I’m starting to wonder if GnR actually wrote Appetite for Destruction themselves… Use Your Illusion 1 &2 were completely different than Appetite and everything since sounds like complete crap.

This is bad but bad in a bad way, Axel is fried, simply nothing to offer, guns and roses needs to go back to their original sound, they need to sound like the illusions or they are done, id rather velvet revolver more than this crap, slash and the boys were able to sound just like guns and roses but updated, this is awful, I don’t care if axl uses auto tune but he needs to sound just like before so he can hook the older fans up again. They sounded like a trap band doing a rock cover, I guess this is worse than Metallica saint anger. 😑😑😑😑😑. You can barely understand axl and it happed in hard skool and in absurd. After math all crap.

Idk I think it’s cool when bands experiment from their established sound once in a while.

I’ve been wanting the complete version of this song since 2006, when I first heard it as the tour intro song in their live shows. It finally came, and at first, I didn’t know what to think. It was different, but different is not a bad thing when you have other bands repeating the same formula over and over again. I think fans need to realize that GN’R left Appetite and Use Your Illusions many moons ago. Axl will always move forward in the direction of uncharted territories instead of what’s known and what he’s comfortable with when writing music because he’s constantly pushing himself to try new things, and that’s admirable. For those complaining about bringing old past members, forget it. Again, that time has come and gone. Even if Izzy and another drummer would come back, it wouldn’t be the GN’R from the late 80s or early 90s. GN’R has evolved, just like most of you (I hope), and with that being said, give “The General” a good listen with good headphones. You might surprise yourself with how awesome it sounds. So, dear reader, give it another listen with an objective mind, and you’ll see how your complaining had no merit. Love it or hate it’s one of the most authentic songs ever written, with tons of emotion and feeling. This is the song Axl has wanted to write since he first started writing music, and I applaud him and anxiously wait for what’s to come.
