But Allie X is such an amazing artist and this album is the love child of new order, Depeche Mode, ADULT, and Ladytron. It’s phenomenal and so many songs stand out. Staying Power and Truly dreams are favorites of mine.

Cape God was one of my favorite albums of all time, so you already know I was going to tune into this one immediately. Allie also co-wrote one of my favorite BTS songs - Louder than Bombs. This album is Allie’s first set-produced record, and it DELIVERS. She’s a wonderful and quirky storyteller, with ear-catching hooks and big sounds that fill you all the way up.

Allie X is bringing back the early 2000s electro-pop sound and I'm here for it.

I mean, this album is pure perfection. Built with the rage of reinvention but wanting to stay true to who you are and what you’ve built. Allie X is an artist for all age.

Being inspired by the 80’s is not a new thing for music artists, especially in recent years as the cycle of global events, and widespread financial insecurity reproduces similar cultural signifiers of the time. Yet few produce a work like Girl With No Face. While many take inspiration or aesthetic influence from the decade, Allie X manages to recreate a sense/feeling that has predominantly remained isolated within the music made during that decade. Though I understand why the word weird is contentious and offensive in many uses, it uniquely describes this album. There is an offness to this current project that’s not only refreshing among Allie X’s body of work, but to the musical landscape of the past 40 years. This is the album you put on to dance out your dejected feelings. I’ve been a fan of Allie X for a long time and have always appreciated her lyricism, production, and her creativity, that enables her to flesh out a concept. I considered Cape God to be her strongest project prior to this release, and Girl With No Face continues with these strengths. She has fully realized an ambiance in this project that is reflected in every aspect of the music. Evoking a haunting angst, and brashness that makes it easy to fall into the world she’s built. She makes pop music a truly emotional experience. Some stand out tracks for me are Galina, You Slept On Me, Staying Power, and Truly Dreams.
