I love within temptation. But when you put out a new album and you add the songs that you previously had out it’s not really a new album because you put out three or four songs that’s been out already and then you add them to the album I just think that’s a rip off

Forget all the Karen’s giving negative reviews. That know absolutely nothing about hard rock music! This is the type of music only true rock fans can appreciate.

This is heavy and djenty, which is a vibe/style I really like these days. However, the way they released this album makes no sense. They released that Ritual EP a while back which had most of these songs on it, so very little is brand new here.
Thankfully I didn't realize this album was coming out until right before release day, so the whole thing was new to me. I know a lot of others didn't have that same opportunity and they feel robbed by having a "new album" with just a few songs on it.
Good release, but don't do this method next time. Keep the album as separate EPs or wait until there's enough material after the EP to write a complete new album.

While the album was released in an unconventional way, with most songs being released slowly since 2020, the album as a whole sounds fantastic. The band tried something new with Resist, and took it up a notch with this album. Sharon's voice sounds amazing, and the band is heavier than they've been in a while. Can't wait to hear what they put out next.

I love Within Temptation a great deal. I never thought I would write a review where I stated they failed but this is a overall flop. Ritual (the track) is terrible, I simply can not listen to it. Hopefully the next album gets back on track. Not sure what happened since Resist was so incredible, at least the two songs “Wireless” and “Shed my Skin” here are 5 stars. That’s about it.
Best music they’ve put out in a decade…

20 some years in and this band continues to sound fresh and relevant and this is some of the best stuff they’ve put out in a decade. They remain true to their roots while sounding modern and kept up with the times. Truly a remarkable feat. The music is heavy, the production quality is top notch, the lyrical content is hyper serious without sounding political or preachy. And Sharon’s voice sounds better than ever. Seriously… this women could sing Websters dictionary and people would pay to be serenaded. Seeing where this band has come from over the years and where they’ve ended up has been such a treat for long-time fans. This kind of longevity is rare and Within Temptation shows no signs of pumping the brakes any time soon.

Over half the songs are singles they released quite a while ago and some they released recently. But to buy the ones I didn’t have, and the instrumentals of them, would have cost me the same as buying the whole album. So I just bought the full album. If you don’t care about the instrumentals, just buy the songs you don’t have and save some money.
Really disappointed that they didn’t just wait and release everything at once. Fans would have waited.
