I just started listening to Strange Fruit Project, and I can't believe that I haven't heard of these guys up until now. This album and this Hip Hop group alone (that's right...."real" hip hop) definitely breathes some fresh air into the the soulful side of things. I've listened to a lot of underground stuff, and a lot of it tends to get kind of strange whether it be by lyrics or beats stuffed inside filler tracks. This album stays on path though, and delivers the goods. Buy it!!! You won't be dissapointed!!!!

I saw their video Get Live with Badu on Neosoul Cafe and I was hooked. It has been a long while since I have felt some soulful, mature hip-hop. In the tradition of Dilla, Mos Def, Little Brother, Common, and a FEW others, The Strange Fruit Project REPRESENTS!

If your expecting to find songs about partying like a rockstar etc. your not looking very effeciently... This is what i call educated rap, smart smooth soothing that slide with head bobbin beats... The whole ablum is excellent, "Luv is" the best song on this CD

now without being completely down with them, except to know i've loved everything they put out, i'm saying that this may be an earlier album. i think they could up their chances if they cut the filler and come with a solid album with far fewer tracks. this one's definitely a nice ride, but not as strong as (sorry--i gotta compare, 'cos when funds are limited i'm gonna help make a recommendation) From Divine or The Healing...

this is a breath of fresh air for the rap game. it takes hip hop back to tribe called quest style mixed with the modern lyricism of little brother. i can't believe i havent heard of this group before and i am wicked excited to buy all of their albums and you should do the same.

Let's keep it simple this CD is "hot". The reality is I understand why something so moving is not played on the radio, it would force us to think about the complexity of life in a way that MLK would be proud of, instead of just T.N.A. Simply put!
  • unbelievable amounts of the pure essence of REAL & KlassiK HipHop
