A really fresh take on Star Trek

Jeff Russo did a great job setting the tone for the series with his propulsive main theme, but Nami Melumad has done 95% of the musical work for Strange New Worlds. I like the gentle, emotional touch she puts on the OST, but there's plenty of the swelling strings that we've come to expect from Trek. The music helped make Strange New Worlds an A+ experience for me and I can't wait to see what Ms. Melumad conjures up for Season 2. Highly recommended.
Yet another brilliant work of Melumad

Her Spock-T’Pring theme is absolutely amazing and I hope we get more of it in the next season. The music is truly remarkable - I love that it honors the legacy of Horner, Goldsmith and Giacchino, but brings it Melumad’s own idea of Trek which is completely new and exciting. Just beautiful!
She has no clue how to write melodies

Underwhelming to say the least. Apart from the opening theme and the second track, none of the rest of the tracks have any direction let alone any melody to them. Just a bunch of garage band sounds pieced together. All sounding the same. Even Star Trek Enterprise had flutes for the Vulcans. Here we just get trumpets and strings over and over. An ai could have done better. I mean how is it that even the Oblivion movie has a fantastic soundtrack and SNW doesn’t? The Valhalla game has a fantastic soundtrack… Waited sooo long for this and completely disappointed.
Great music, cringy song titles

The music of Strange New Worlds, season one, makes a fantastic album, but unfortunately Russo & Melumad have fallen into that extremely annoying trap of giving their pieces cutesy, pun-laden titles. I blame Michael Giacchino for starting this trend, but am happy to spread the blame if he was emulating an even earlier composer. I know it's a minor quibble, but I haven't met a pet peeve yet that was wholly rational. And an entire album of pun-based song titles is a pet peeve of mine. Great music, cringy titles.
