Been listening to Avantasia since The Scarecrow came out in 2008, and I've yet to be disappointed by a new album from Tobias and co. Some of his all time best songs have ended up on this new album, and while I'm not sure that he's managed to outdo his best work, he consistently shows a maturity and versatility in his songwriting that makes each new album a unique experience. The production here is stellar, the hooks are colorful and come one after another, the features include such talent as Floor Jansen, Michael Kiske, and Ralf Scheepers, and the pacing is immaculate. Even though this is the shortest Avantasia record so far, it stands as one of the best. For an album produced during lockdowns, it sure doesn't sound like it

If there was ever an album that could be used to define the artistry of avantasia I would have picked the scarecrow. But now I’d have to say that this album would be their primary example. The music is amazing and you can tel that each artist put their heart and soul into each song. Highly recommended.
