New Sabaton fan here. This album is filled with amazing songs and storytelling. Christmas Truce is my personal favorite. As other reviews have said, the opening track Sarajevo is missing here. Go listen to it somewhere else on the Internet, it ties the album together especially with the closing track Versailles.

So first things first, the current lineup of songs is alright, Stormtroopers is a great song that gets the adrenaline pumping, Dreadnought is a nice second that keeps up the energy, then we go to Unkillable Soldier which I appreciate the more I listen to, Soldier of Heaven is another nice song, Hellfighters brings back the hard and fast energy, Race to the Sea is less memorable to me but with each subsequent listen I enjoy it more, Lady of the Dark once again brings the adrenaline and Valley of Death continues it, Christmas Truce brings us a message of hope that two sides who oppose each other can find peace. Closing out the album is Versailles which is a nice narration song mix. Pros: Sabaton, history, some good hard and fast lyrics, the beats are great. Cons: Missing Sarajevo which nuclear blast made a physical exclusive. My opinion on Sarajevo controversy between physical and digital editions: This is the dumbest decision made by nuclear blast to drum up physical sales. First we lose bonus tracks to physical editions which was alright but annoying, now we’re losing the first songs on albums? That is ridiculous, short sighted, and strange. Now for those who think “Sarajevo was just like Versailles with more narration then song.” Yes you’re correct, however Sarajevo was the introduction to the album and Versailles was the epilogue. So Nuclear Blast cut out the introduction to the album. I don’t know if they’ll ever add it to here but I am not happy about this choice. I will support Sabaton but I don’t know if I’ll ever buy anything else from Nuclear Blast until this is remedied. iTunes should’ve knocked a dollar off this album for the one song removed.
  • Love it but why is one song missing
