Heart of New York is a classic. It merged the R&B and Jazz sound of the era. It was very instrumental in developing my interest in Jazz.

I live in the E. LA area and can sometimes pick up a small Compton Station called KJLH. When I was in high school during the LA Riots I turned on this station and caught this song mid-play. I quickly hit the record button on my boom-box an got a lot of the song on tape. I joined the service, was stationed in New Jersey, came home, got married, and all the while trying to find not only the song, but the artist as well. Finally, when the internet started to become more powerful, I was able to google the hook of this song and find Mr. Bugnon. Truly one of the greatest Smooth-Jazz songs of all time...I'll love it forever!

This CD is one of many that helped to shape a much younger young lady's jazz pallette! This is still a classic! If it has not been added to your collection, it should!
  • This is just what the Dr. ordered

When I think of home is just outrageous, I've turned on my non jazz listeners to this and they went out and bought the CD

The main review sounds like it comes from some kind of 'jazz purist.' 107 is a good album with several nice listenable songs carrying different moods and tempos. It is one of my favorites. Get the entire album.

I think it's an overall good record and includes the "Quiet Storm radio" hit vocal So In Love.

I doubt many people are going to say this album is in their top 50 ... but the cut "Heart of New York" should be listed twice! Too bad he didn't stick with the formula found while creating that one! Save the $9 - but spend the $.99 ... you'll love this track!
