I discovered Andy Caldwell on Pandora, and have been blown away ever since! The music is very "status quo" of house, in a good way. The beats are great; they aren't too fast or too slow. This album sets a nice ambience for a party!

I have been feeling for a while that musically our culture has been in a transition period. I have been waiting for whatever the fu** was coming next. And then, KABLING! I think I'm hearing it in your work. Just discovered you today (although after giving the new albun a listen through I had already heard “Don’t You Love be” before, but didn’t yet grasp what it was all about), and I am in love with the sound. Oh, and will you marry me? (just acting on a hunch). Rarely, if ever do I immediately gobble up something totally new. With no gestation period required! Anyhow, forget about BPM, pots and pans, grinding electronics, screaming divas, and steam bath dancefloors, and say hello to intelligent melodic bliss! I think this signifies a change in our cultural paradigm to cater toward more meaningful interaction between people. Looking forward to this trend! I think the dancefloor is about to be replaced by couches and cabanas (interspersed with a new kind of movement or dance). Yum Yum, I’m getting hungry. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
  • Hmmmm, still on the fence with this one.

I would have preferred a variation on singers to really buy the DJ as composer theme here. Obviously I am assuming the singer is the same in each song and that is where I think this goes wrong. Sure, the construction of the songs is great, the music tight but I would want a DJ to use different voices (male/female/gritty/silky) to express his/her inner being. I like it and it gets lots of play by me but I am not on the chuck wagon to Caldwellian hype yet. This needs to settle a bit in my inner turmoil. Oakenfold is much more suited to wearing different masks, Caldwell plays it safe.

This CD is great from the start to finish. It has all the goods: great vocals, beats, lyrics, and variety. "Brand New Day" is my favorite track .... but they're all good! Buy it now it's a must have.

Never heard of this cat before, but I'm glad I got his music. It's got a lot of funk and soul, really great for driving in the car on a sunny day, hanging out outside or chillin' after a party. A really good buy. The album flows effortlessly with the exception of two songs: "Brand New Day" and "The Question." I don't know what it is about them, but I can't sit through them. The first is uninspiring to say the least and the latter ... the singer's voice isn't suited to that type of song, it sounds whiny and the lyrics are asinine. When I listen to the CD, I automatically skip those two and enjoy the rest of the ride.
