If Sara Bareilles & Brandi Carlile had a love child, she’d be Elyse Myers in Wall Work. There is an ache to the album, which reverberates through the tracks.

I found this album a couple of months ago and immediately fell in love. The soothing melodies and poetry of her lyrics touched my soul deeply. I have no idea if Elyse has connection to the LGBTQ+ community but the way she articulates the experiences of heartache and uncertainty and complicated self-concept healed many hidden wounds in my own queerish heart. Obvs music lovers of every orientation can appreciate Elyse’s genius as a songwriter and singer, but I especially recommend if you’re closeted (or out) and want an invisible hug delivered through your ear drums. <3

I can’t begin to tell you how much Elyse’s songs/words express so much of what I’m feeling and have felt my entire life. It’s interesting because I discovered her on TikTok and I felt like I discovered my own personal goldmine. But of course, that’s her charm. Everyone feels like she’s their best friend. Regardless, she speaks to me profoundly. This album is the best I have ever purchased. Please make more! I adore you “my friend”. We are soul sisters.

It’s not often that I come across a album that each of its songs hits home on something personal like this one did. As someone who has dealt with depression and anxiety, I could actually relate so much to this album. It was breathe of fresh air when I found out today that you sing because I mainly know of your Tik Toks which bring so much joy to me when I’m feeling down, and now to have this as well is a true blessing. You are a blessing, not just to me but to so many out there. You talk about being in that darkness and trying to get used to the light, I have to say that you spread so much light through your many talents. So I thank you for all that you do, and that I pray that the Lord continues to bless you.
