A lovely prgression of Burial's style

One of the things I love best about Burial is his ability to advance in skill as a musician but not to leave the sound and core concept that makes him great. I bet on this, and bought it right on the midnight on the release date He exemplifies this with his new EP–––and my bet paid off marvelously.
"Claustro" paints a vivd picture (when doesn't Burial's music?) of a club where the music is hitting you just right, reminding you why you go out in the first place: that feeling that the music is resonating with you and the crowd is somehow connected to you. It's something of a cross between 2-step and uplifting trance, and it really delivers some of the best of each. It makes distinctive addition to a corpus already chock full of legendary grooves, and is now one of my faorite Burial tunes.
"State Forest" plays like a "Beachfires" with overtones of "Endorphin," (which is my favorite song of all time), so this one was quite welcome. At just over 8 minutes, it lets you get absolutely lost in this sublime sea of ambient glory.
All and all, an absolute must for any Burial fan. Enjoy!
