What a great album , it should have played longer on Broadway . But those of us who got to see it, WERE very lucky indeed . " stranger in this world was worth the price of the ticket...................

The artist is credited as Boy George because he wrote the show not cause he performed the songs. It's like marking Jonathan Larson as the artist on a Rent cd or Jason Robert Brown for The Last Five Years or Parade.

This music is so unlike any music I have ever heard, and it is such a breath of fresh air. The score is just amazing and Boy George has once again "wowed" us all. I just can't believe that a show this amazing with music such as this could actually close in the time it did. We all know it should've stayed, but I have expectations of it coming back one day =]

This album blew me away! I first found this from the DVD "Show Business: The road to Broadway" and I didn't know if it was good, it looked good but it didn't win any Tonys. Well, its is! Its so worth buying, Boy george does a fantastic job with the lyrics and music and Euan Morton and raul Esparza and th whole cast are just two thumbs up! I totally recommend the whole CD!

Great album, but track 19 - "Out Of Fashion" needs fixed. I've downloaded twice, over a year apart, but its still not fixed and the last minute of the track breaks up. A fave song from BG and of the past decade.

I went to see Taboo in NYC only 2 months after it premiered, It by far was the greatest broadway show i've ever seen. Prior to that (the day before halloween before opening day) I met Boy George outside the cast entrance of Taboo, I was with my 3 friends, one of which is a "drag queen" Boy George was very nice and politely said hello to me, then my drag queen friend saw who I was talking to and let out a scream because Boy George is his idol, Boy George got freaked out and RAN back into the building....Anywho, great album, buy it!

Nearly three years ago, this landmark musical closed. Rosie O'Donnell stood in the audience before the curtain and promised "Taboo" would be back. We're still waiitng. Publish the book and make the performance rights available! More people must experience this amazing show live. The score is glorious.

This is a fantastic cd. It is so hard to understand why it didn't do well on Broadway. This cd is highly recommended. Standouts include Talk Amongst Yourselves, The Fame Game (which George wrote in 15 minutes), Petrified, and Out of Fashon. For more fun songs try Dress to Kill (a fun song that makes fun of 80's style and dance moves. This was hillarious to watch on Broadway), Genocide Peroxide (a funny song to introduce Marilyn, a guy trying to follow in George's footsteps), and Everything Taboo.

Sometimes in the course of critical review, it is not the work of art that is reviewed but rather the pop culture surrounding it. This definitely happened with Taboo, which actually did quite well in London before crossing both the Atlantic and Enquirer Oceans. Interestingly, it probably wasn't even the Boy's exploits that made this a critic target but rather those of Rosie. Too bad, the musical was an original and refreshing work of musical theater; and those on Broadway are probably waiting to RAVE for the next Disney themed musical (Foxworthy starring in Cars, Anniston in Bambi). In any case, this musical puts a narrative flow of what it was like to go through 80s: from fame to AIDS, from homophobia to self-inflicted drug abuse. The best music here is featured in the ballads (such as "Il Adore"), though there is also campy fun to be had in "Ich bin Kunst" and "I'll Have You All." As for reviews, one could sequester all reviewers so that they can't be tainted by negative popular press . . . though, this is the world of rock and roll, and what good would our creators be without their sex scandals, drugs, and general disregard for the laws we should all be breaking anyway?
