Being a long time Todd and Utopia fan this was one of my favorites when it was first released. Hadn't listened to it in years and was reminded why I loved it!!

My Dad, being a progressive rock junkie, introduced me to what I consider the greatest prog rock artists EVER (King Crimson, Utopia, Bill Nelson and Be Bop Deluxe, U.K., Happy The Man, YES, ELP etc. The music is a complicated piece of work and is very versatile. This album is only second best to King Crimson’s Court of the Crimson King album and YES’s Fragile. The best song on this album is “Singring and the Glass Guitar (An Electrified Fairytale)"

To my friend Rick Hey Rick!!! was it purple microdot or the orange sunshine that made you continue to go see Todd all these years?!!! This Album in 1979 in all our basements staying warm in the winter :::WOW man :::and a 12 pack from Golden Crust with the pizza delivered every time

I lent this album(vinyl) to some dude I knew at work...i forget, i think he was fired or something and I never got it back and for what ever reason 30 years have went by and i have yet to get a new one....till now. it brings back memories of my youth. 70's rock at it's best. get it.

My brother had this album and played it all the time. In 1982 I got my first copy. It is one of my all-time favorites. I have turned many people on to it. Singring and the Glass Guitar should be in the rock and roll hall of fame as one of the greatest songs ever.

this one was a full listen thru & thru, the rare album whereby literally every track was a true, brilliant standout. imagine Polyphonic Spree if they had some rock opera balls underneath their robes! if the art/prog-rock of Emerson Lake & Palmer et al wears you down, let Todd & Utopia show you how it absolutely should be done - ever try singing to an ELP 'melody' ?? every one of these tracks are infinitely melodic & hooky & sing-alongable, while still plugging right into the same elusive 'elite' art-band genre as an ELP, Yes, etc album

This proves that Todd is right up there with Zappa and others as far as a musical genius. JTF

I saw Todd Rundgren and Utopia In NY, CT and NJ I cant even count the amount of times I say them in concert. RA is the apiddomy of Classic rock. Todd must be a genius when it comes to writing music.

"RA" is still a mostly prog type of rock, very good... ("overture" and "singring") but the killer track on this collection is "magic dragon theatre". It sounded to me back in the day just like a track of Paul McCartney's off of Sgt. Pepper. Half community theatre/Half power pop, my favorite part is (are) the "actors" blowing their lines right in mid song! This may sound too good to be true, but it's the real deal. Don't decide off of the 30 second preview. It sounds like nothing else on the record and shoulda, coulda, been a wonderful radio track.

One of the greatest rock mixes that truely shows the talent of the individual musicians, the flip side of Ra is not to be missed. Singring and the Glass Guitar must be heard to be believed and for fans of the later so-called psychedlic era, this 18+ minute peice is a "trip" that you cannot do without. A build up of wonderous solos that combine into an exploration of each instument's strengths and support of each other. This is an under played piece because of it's length, but should be made a staple of any rock library.
