Beware the reviews by Boolez and, particularly, Maestro Hawn unless, of course, you are frozen in 250 year old ice and are unable to break free from a stifling worship of tradition that always wants it the way it always was. The tradition is wonderful - long live E. Power Biggs! - but that doesn't mean that there is not room, even need, for fresh voices, perspectives, and interpretations. Cameron Carpenter is not dissing tradition, he is adding to it. Take a chill pill, guys, and enjoy some innovation. Some very tasty, very well played innovation.

I agree with Boolez on this. If you're seeking a well recorded, and historically informed recording you should seek elsewhere. This clown does not represent the informed community.

If J.S. Bach were alive today, I believe that this is what his music would have sounded like. Bach was truly a revolutionary, and it is a fool who would box the master into the time period in which he lived. Cameron Carpenter breathes new life into the music of the greatest composer ever to live. And that is saying something!

minus Cameron Carpenter. This is glam Bach without the class to make the cheezy approach sound as it should. This is vulgar organ playing. Cameron understands nothing of this music, and probably never will. I feel cheated for getting this, and you will to. -Bz
