The 36-year-old rapper and actor, Wiz Khalifa, found himself in hot water when he was arrested in Romania for possessing illegal drugs. During the “Beach, Please!” festival in Costinesti, Romania, authorities claimed to have discovered cannabis in Khalifa’s possession. Romanian law considers cannabis a “risk drug,” and if found guilty, Khalifa could be looking at a decade behind bars.
The anti-organized crime prosecutors in Romania stated that Khalifa was caught smoking cannabis on stage during his performance at the music festival. Reports suggest that the rapper was taken into custody by local authorities along with several others, but he was later released after being charged.
“Last night’s show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage,” Khalifa shared after his release. “They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big ass joint next time.”
