Tyla, an artist from South Africa, is set to make her debut performance at the 2024 BET Award show. She will be sharing the stage with other talented artists such as YG Marley, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Ice Spice, Victoria Monét, Latto, Muni Long, Shaboozey, Sexy Red, and Tanner Adell. In addition to her performance, Tyla is also a first-time nominee at the event.
She is nominated in multiple categories including Best Female R&B/Pop Artiste, Best New Artiste, Viewer’s Choice, and Best International Act, making her the most nominated artist from Africa this year. Other African nominees include Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asake, Seyi Vibez from Nigeria, and Tyler ICU, Focalistic, and Makhadzi from South Africa. Among American artists, Drake leads with seven nominations, followed by Nicki Minaj with six. The event will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson on June 30, 2024, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
