Nigerian singer-songwriter, Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems, is on track to be awarded an RIAA gold certification for her hit song “Me & U.” The track has attained a milestone of selling 500,000 units in the U.S., meeting the criteria for the prestigious RIAA gold certification. This will mark her fourth solo certification, following the success of songs like “Higher,” “Free Mind,” and “Wait for U” that have also garnered gold certifications in the U.S.

“Me & U” is an Afrobeats sensation co-produced by Tems and Ghanaian producer, GuiltyBeatz. The track is featured on her debut album, “Born in the Wild,” which recently made an impressive entry into the UK Official Albums Charts, establishing Tems as the highest-charting Nigerian female artist on the chart.
