The well-known Afrobeat artist from Nigeria, Rema, has arrived in India to perform at the wedding of Anant Ambani, the son of Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest man in Asia, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of pharmaceutical magnates Viren and Shaila Merchant. Rema announced his arrival on Instagram, sharing a video of himself boarding a private chartered plane dressed in all-black. The video featured his song ‘Azaman’ from his recent album ‘HEIS’ and an Indian flag emoji.
Reportedly, Rema is scheduled to pocket $3 million for his rendition of his global hit, ‘Calm Down,’ at the ceremony. The wedding lineup also includes other notable artists. Canadian sensation Justin Bieber is said to have received $10 million for his performance, while pop icon Rihanna graced the stage for an undisclosed fee. The extravagant wedding is slated for July 12 at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC).
