Despite comparisons placing him in the league of icons like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, Rema expressed his admiration for his peers and his disinterest in competing with them.
Rema stressed that he avoids getting caught up in fan-driven rivalries and instead focuses on his own artistic journey and development. He highlighted that five years ago, he wasn’t even familiar with Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, making competition seem irrelevant as they are now contemporaries.
The artist acknowledged that while competition is an inherent part of the industry, he believes in mutual respect and support among artists beyond just the music realm.
