Rapper T.I. Arrested in Atlanta Airport due to Identity Mistaken Identity

Renowned American rapper T.I., also known as Clifford Harris, was mistakenly detained at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport following a mix-up involving another person. A warrant issued in Baltimore, Maryland for Harris was related to serious allegations of violence against a woman, including stalking and potentially involving a firearm.

Given the misunderstanding, T.I. was taken to Clayton County Jail. The warrant being from a different state prompted an immediate extradition hearing. T.I.’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, quickly intervened by contacting the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office and securing T.I.’s release within two hours of the arrest.

After a review by the judge, the extradition order was dismissed. It is worth noting that Clifford Harris, the individual being sought, was described as weighing 205 pounds, while T.I. weighs 165 pounds. The complaint that sparked the confusion was filed on June 13 of the current year.
