Musician Idowest Responds to Critics of Peaceful Protests, Embraces Igbo Identity

Adekunle Idowu, known as Idowest, a Yoruba rapper, expressed his new identification as an Igbo, amidst the country’s challenges and the disapproval from some Yorubas regarding the upcoming #EndBadGovernance protest. He criticized those against the planned nationwide demonstrations as being biased.

Sharing his thoughts on Snapchat, Idowest wrote:

“Your father supports Tinubu, yet you oppose protests and have the audacity to criticize me. The world is full of deception and irony.

“Bad governance! It’s ridiculous to hear Yorubas shout about Yoruba while acting against their interests! Such folly. Henceforth, I identify as Igbo.

“You are trading your future for a dollar. Okay.

“Nigerians are the root of Nigeria’s problems! While some plan a peaceful protest, some misguided individuals counter it. All for the sake of a meager 1500 naira, disgraceful! Let’s say no to protest? All due to 1500 naira, how disgraceful.”
