Mercy Chinwo Grants Scholarships to 100 Undergraduate Students at the University of Port Harcourt

Mercy Chinwo, a well-known gospel artist, and her husband, Blessed Uzochikwa, have revealed a significant charitable endeavor: granting full scholarships to 100 undergraduate students at the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State. The couple made this heartening announcement during a visit to the university on Friday, July 12, 2024, bringing delight to the students present.

The scholarship program will cover all expenses, including tuition fees, textbooks, allowances, and extra support to ensure a conducive learning environment for deserving students facing financial constraints at the university. Information regarding the selection criteria and application process will be shared through official channels. This scholarship, valued at NXX million, is effective immediately.

This act of kindness is not the first from Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa this year. In April, through their ‘MercyBlessed Foundation’ and Grace and Truth Nation Music label, they granted scholarships to 50 undergraduates from the same institution.

“Port Harcourt will always be home to me. The memories are vivid of a city where I dared to dream and aspire for a meaningful life. I am grateful to the Lord for His work in and through me thus far. The scholarship aims to motivate students that their dreams and aspirations are valid and not to lose hope because there is a God who loves abundantly,” expressed Mercy Chinwo.

Recently, Mercy Chinwo launched her latest album titled ‘Overwhelming Victory’, which was recorded during her pregnancy. Before this release, she gained recognition with albums such as ‘Elevated’, ‘Wonder’, and ‘Confidence’, among others.
