Had Canada won, Drake stood to gain nearly $2,880,000. However, their hopes were dashed as Argentina emerged victorious with a 2-0 score at New York’s MetLife Stadium. The current world champions secured their spot in the final with goals from Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez of Manchester City.
On Tuesday afternoon, prior to the match, Drake had shared on Instagram his betting slip with the caption: “This could get Messi @stake.” The final showdown is scheduled for Sunday, July 14, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, where Argentina will face the winner of the Uruguay vs. Colombia match, which concluded recently.
