The Nigerian music icon, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has filed a lawsuit against Sophia Momodu in the Lagos State High Court regarding the custody of their daughter, Aurora Imade Adeleke. The legal matter, dated April 17, 2024, with reference number LD/1587PMC/2024, names Mr. David Adedeji Adeleke as the applicant and Ms. Sophia Momodu as the sole respondent. In his plea to the court, Davido requested joint custody of Imade and unrestricted access to her. Despite the end of his relationship with Momodu, the singer highlighted his continuous financial support towards his daughter’s welfare.
Davido disclosed that he consistently covers Imade’s school fees and contributes to the rent of the residence where Momodu and their daughter live. He expressed his frustration with Momodu’s unreasonable demands, citing an incident where she declined his offer of a N200 million apartment within a secure Oniru condominium complex in Victoria Island, Lagos. Instead, she insisted on him paying N5,000,000 annually towards their daughter’s accommodation. Additionally, Davido purchased a Range Rover Sport Utility Vehicle for Imade’s transportation needs, which, he claimed, was also met with obstacles.
