Damon Che, known for his drumming with the influential math rock band Don Caballero, has unveiled his new project, Yesness. This new band features Che alongside Kristian Dunn from the post-rock group El Ten Eleven. Their first album, See You At The Solipsist Convention, is set for release in November, with the lead single, “Not So Sorry Now Are You?” available for listening today.
The collaboration between Che and Dunn began in April 2023 through a connection facilitated by Karl Hofstetter, the founder of Joyful Noise Recordings. After exchanging numerous texts, song sketches, and demos for eight months, they were finally able to meet face-to-face at the studio. The resulting track, “Not So Sorry Now Are You?”, showcases a remarkable synergy, blending Che’s intricate drumming with Dunn’s funky bass lines and an engaging piano segment. You can listen to it below and find the complete tracklist for See You At The Solipsist Convention.
