Winter’s Blue And Radiant Children Unveil “No More Apocalypse Father” on TunesDeck

We Are Winter’s Blue And Radiant Children – “No More Apocalypse Father”

The band, Winter’s Blue And Radiant Children, a collaboration between Mat Ball (BIG|BRAVE), Efrim Manuel Menuck (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt. Zion), Jonathan Downs, and Patch One (both Ada), has announced their upcoming debut album, No More Apocalypse Father, along with the release of the title track.

The genesis of the project stemmed from Ball and Menuck creating music that drew inspiration from the harsh winters of Montréal. Menuck elaborated on the concept, highlighting the contrast between the warmth indoors and the cold outside during winter.

Reflecting on the ambiguous emotions evoked by overcast days with radiant sunlight, Menuck mused, “The colors become more saturated, and you see a single flower, say a morning glory, whose color is so vibrant beneath the gray, I don’t know if that’s a lovely sensation or a terrible sensation. It’s both.”
