Willie Nelson Reveals He Is Releasing His 152nd Album
Willie Nelson, a legendary artist at 91 years old, has announced the upcoming release of his 152nd album titled “Last Leaf On The Tree.” Scheduled to be available on Nov. 1, the album is a testament to Nelson’s enduring musical career.
In creating “Last Leaf On The Tree,” Nelson’s son Micah took inspiration from the approach used by Rick Rubin and Johnny Cash. The album comprises a mix of cover songs and original tracks, including Beck’s “Lost Cause” and the Flaming Lips’ “Do You Realize??” Additionally, the album features songs from artists like Nina Simone, Tom Waits, Neil Young, Keith Richards, Warren Zevon, Sunny War, and Micah’s band Particle Kid.
The album’s lead track, “Last Leaf,” is a reflective Nelson original that muses on his resilience in a dreamlike manner reminiscent of Bob Dylan’s work on “Rough And Rowdy Ways.” The track is available for listening now.
