Weezer’s iconic Blue Album turns 30 this year, and to celebrate, the band will embark on an anniversary tour where they will perform the album in its entirety. Weezer has just released a Spotify exclusive EP featuring new live studio versions of some of the album’s standout tracks, with a special guest appearance from Barry Johnson of Joyce Manor.
Barry Johnson joins Rivers Cuomo on vocals for a rendition of “Surf Wax America” that stays true to the original but also showcases a blending of Weezer’s and Joyce Manor’s signature sounds. This collaboration is a heartwarming reminder of the similarities between the two bands, especially after their joint tour last year on the “Indie Rock Roadtrip.”
The 30th Anniversary Of Weezer EP also includes live versions of hits like “Undone (The Sweater Song),” “Say It Ain’t So,” and “Buddy Holly.” You can stream the EP below using the Spotify player.
