Wand Unleashes New Musical Gems: “Goldfish” and “The Leap” on TunesDeck

Wand – “Goldfish” & “The Leap”

Big thanks to Cory Hanson for continually delivering amazing music! After impressive solo projects earlier this decade, Wand made a strong comeback this summer with their album Vertigo. Now, they’re back with more music, including some previously unreleased tracks.

Before Vertigo was released, they shared a standalone single titled “Help Desk” in March. This track is featured as the opening piece of a new 12″ EP that includes “Goldfish”—a captivating six-minute song—along with remixes from artists including Beat Detectives, Dean Spunt, and Dead Rider. Today, “Goldfish” has been released alongside a video that utilizes artwork from the late Bruce Bickford. The track beautifully captures the essence of a sunset and sunrise simultaneously, blending a relaxing vibe with strong melodies and textures. Like all of Wand’s recent music, it resonates with me deeply.

In addition to new releases, Wand is also digging into their past. The upcoming compilation In A Capsule Underground… showcases their earliest recordings, featuring demos and unreleased tracks from their first album Ganglion Reef that debuted in 2014. The new single “The Leap,” released today, offers a fresh take reminiscent of a different era, akin to Tame Impala, and it’s another track I truly enjoy.

You can listen to both tracks below.

Both Help Desk / Goldfish and In A Capsule Underground… will be available on October 25 via Drag City.
