Vitesse X launched two singles earlier this year, “Realize” and “way i luv,” as a preview of her upcoming album titled This Infinite. In a recent announcement, the New York DJ and producer revealed that her new LP is set for release. The first track, “Eternal,” is now available.
In a reflective statement, Vitesse X shared her creative journey, stating, “I spent over a year crafting a dark, atmospheric electronic record after the debut of my first album, Us Ephemeral.” She elaborated:
During this period, profound changes unfolded in my life and the world at large. Initially, channeling my intense emotions into somber, powerful electronic compositions felt like a natural catharsis. However, as 2023 progressed, the world became overwhelmingly paralyzing. Amidst significant loss, career uncertainty, and global unrest, reality hit hard, and my mental well-being suffered. Nostalgia became my only solace, leading me back to guitar-centric music and a return to simpler, warmer sounds. Amidst deep isolation, this connection to the past provided a sense of comfort amidst chaos.
The album, This Infinite, features collaborations with Jack Tatum (Wild Nothing) on “Careless” and Finnish pop duo Pearly Drops on “Get In Girls.” The production includes mixing by Abe Seiferth and Jorge Elbrecht, and mastering by Joe Laporta. Listen to “Eternal” below.
