Vamberator: A Musical Journey Through the Lens of Lou Reed

Vamberator – “I Used To Be Lou Reed”

In July, Vamberator launched their first track titled “Sleep The Giant Of Sleeps” along with the announcement of their debut album, Age Of Loneliness. The group includes Jemaur Tayle from Shelleyan Orphan and Boris Williams, formerly of The Cure, and they have now unveiled the elegant new song “I Used To Be Lou Reed.”

Reflecting on the track, Tayle remarked, “Did I ever embody Lou Reed? The dirt and trouble lurking beneath my nails? Or was I merely an observer? I’ve read Hubert Selby and undoubtedly stood out, sporting my turned-up collar and wraparound shades. I even mingled with artworks on the walls. But can I truly say I was Lou Reed?”

Williams questioned, “If he’s not Lou Reed, then who am I? Who have I been collaborating with?”

The album Age Of Loneliness features collaborations with artists such as Siouxsie Sioux, Robert Plant, the Cult, Goldfrapp, and Charlie Jones among others. You can listen to “I Used To Be Lou Reed” below.
