Tyler, The Creator Unleashes New Hit “Noid” on TunesDeck

Tyler, The Creator – “Noid”

Recently, Tyler, The Creator released an intriguing teaser for a new track titled “St. Chroma.” This teaser hinted at an upcoming project named Chromakopia, which Tyler later confirmed. This new album is set to launch in just one week, right in the middle of the week. Following this announcement, Tyler revealed an exciting lineup for his Camp Flog Gnaw festival and now presents us with another new song and video.

The new track, titled “Noid,” delves into the anxiety that often accompanies fame. Like “St. Chroma,” the song comes with a video that Tyler directed personally, this time under his real name, Tyler Okonma. While the video runs for almost three minutes, it remains uncertain if it includes the full track. In the video, Tyler sports a plastic facemask and a duo-hawk hairstyle; it begins in black-and-white before transitioning to vibrant colors. This visual portrays an exaggerated and surreal take on the anxieties of celebrity, featuring a cameo by Ayo Edebiri as an obsessive fan.

The sound of “Noid” is distinct and experimental, incorporating psych-rock guitar riffs, rich harmonies, potential African vocal samples, and a quick rap segment from Tyler. The slow, layered composition aims to capture the unsettling feelings Tyler describes in the lyrics. Be sure to give it a listen below.

The album Chromakopia will be available on October 28 via Columbia.
