Ty Segall – “Honeymoon” (Music on TunesDeck)

Ty Segall, a dynamic figure in rock music, recently dropped his double album Three Bells and is gearing up for another LP release. His upcoming album Love Rudiments, set to be unveiled later this month, is a percussion-centered piece without vocals or strings, paying homage to drums. Following the release of the early track “The Dance,” Segall has now unveiled “Honeymoon.”

Love Rudiments consists of four tracks, each comprising multiple songs. “Honeymoon” is specifically labeled as “Honeymoon (Edit)” as it represents the initial part of the track “Honeymoon / Life / Confrontation / Argument / Separation / Realization.” This experimental setup may seem convoluted, but it showcases Segall’s innovative approach to music.

“Honeymoon” is a lively two-minute percussion piece filled with various sounds like dings, clomps, and booms. It exudes a vibe reminiscent of a performance by the cast of Stomp!, engaging listeners in a rhythmic experience. While Love Rudiments may cater more to die-hard Ty Segall fans, it still offers an enjoyable and unique musical journey. Give it a listen below.

Love Rudiments will be released on 8/30 via Drag City.
