The talented Toro y Moi, also known as Chaz Bear, is back with a brand new album titled Hole Erth. The album features an impressive lineup of guest artists such as Ben Gibbard, Porches, Kevin Abstract, Glaive, Kenny Mason, Don Toliver, Duckwrth, Elijah Kessler, and Lev. The lead single “Tuesday” showcases Bear’s venture into a contemporary grungy, post-SoundCloud rap pop-rock genre, marking a significant shift in his sound. In a statement, Bear reflects on the evolving distinction between mainstream and underground music.
“I hope you enjoy this suburban anthem, growing up, the often-controversial-line between mainstream and underground artists was so defined but now that line has become so blurred I can’t even tell what I like anymore…sometimes.”
