At the beginning of 2024, The Smile launched their second album named Wall Of Eyes. During March, the trio of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Tom Skinner premiered some new tracks live. On Friday, they discreetly unveiled a 12″ containing new music.
The record features the songs “Don’t Get Me Started,” frequently performed by the band recently, and “The Slip.” On social media, The Smile hinted at something new with AI record store images. This vinyl release is exclusively in physical stores initially, with online ordering speculated to commence on August 8. Surprisingly, The Smile did not officially announce the new 12″, relying solely on word-of-mouth, reminiscent of No Name. Special thanks to Alex for the inside scoop! Listen to snippets of the songs below.
Due to a medical emergency affecting Jonny Greenwood, The Smile had to cancel their European tour, and Greenwood is recuperating while enjoying Seinfeld.
