Girl And Girl Release New Single “The Cow”
Australian indie rock band Girl And Girl, who recently joined Sub Pop, debuted their first album Call A Doctor earlier this year. They have now released a playful new single titled “The Cow,” which has a fast-paced style and quirky lyrics addressing frontman Kai James’ unflattering nickname from friends.
In a humorous note on their Bandcamp page, Kai explains, “the cow” isn’t truly his nickname: “All my friends call me ‘The Cow!’ Not really, but sometimes I think they should,” he states. He reflects on the importance of listening to one’s heart over one’s distractions, with whimsical lyrics like “C is for copulation! O is for ordinary! W is for wow! Cow is for coward!” Accompanying the release is a fun music video where Kai learns line dancing during a Zoom chat with photographer Jenna Million.
The single “The Cow” is currently available through Sub Pop.
