In recent years, Atlanta’s own Summer Walker has demonstrated that it’s possible to gain recognition by creating classic ’90s-style R&B, provided it’s executed with excellence. Walker has released two successful albums and collaborated with notable artists such as Childish Gambino, J. Cole, Solange, and Steve Lacy on her Clear 2: Soft Life EP. She has now revealed plans for her upcoming album titled Finally Over It and has teased a new single.
Details about Finally Over It remain scarce. There’s no confirmed release date, artwork, or tracklist available yet, but it appears to be on the horizon. This album will succeed her acclaimed 2021 album Still Over It, completing the trilogy that began with her 2019 debut, Over It. It will be interesting to see if she adopts a new naming style for future projects. In the meantime, fans can enjoy her latest release, “Heart Of A Woman.”
The track “Heart Of A Woman” is a smooth R&B ballad addressing the challenges of relationships, while also hinting at the dreamy neo-soul influence from her Clear 2: Soft Life EP in her upcoming works. Walker collaborated with David “Dos Dias” Bishop for the songwriting, and it was produced by Tavaras Jordan. The lyric video features Serena Page and Kordell Beckham, the winners of the recent Love Island USA season. Watch it below.
The release date for Finally Over It is yet to be announced under LVRN/Interscope.
