This week, the hardcore scene is buzzing with excitement over Holy Blade. The band comprises members known for their work in Twitching Tongues and God’s Hate, but Holy Blade offers a different sound – a melodic and dramatic twist on hardcore punk reminiscent of prime AFI.

Founded by Alec Faber, a military veteran and musician from various other bands, Holy Blade features Faber on vocals and guitar with Colin Young, Mike Cesario, and Mac Miller on drums. Influences ranging from AFI to emo bands like Further Seems Forever are evident in their music, characterized by its bright and catchy nature.

Holy Blade recently released a video for their first single “Only The Dead” and followed up with a five-track EP recorded with Taylor Young. Dive into their music below:

In another musical discovery, label 20 Buck Spin unveiled Neon Nightmare, a mysterious goth-metal project, with their debut track “Lost Silver,” a long piece paying homage to Type O Negative. Speculations suggest Colin Young’s involvement in this project. Explore the mesmerizing “Lost Silver” video below.

Holy Blade is now available via Closed Casket Activities. Catch their first live performance alongside God’s Hate on 8/18 in San Fernando Valley, and don’t miss them at FYA Fest next year.
