Stereogum to Host Shower Curtain’s Album Launch at TV Eye Next Month

Stereogum Presents Shower Curtain’s Album Release Show At TV Eye Next Month

Recently, Stereogum hosted the album launch of Feats Of Engineering by fantasy of a broken heart at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. Coming up, we are excited to celebrate another album release for Shower Curtain, who will unveil their debut album words from a wishing well at TV Eye in Ridgewood, Queens on November 13. They will be joined by My Transparent Eye, Many Shining Windows, and a (very) special guest.

As longtime admirers of Shower Curtain, we first got hooked with their heartfelt track “Edgar,” which earned a spot in our Best Songs Of The Week last year. The shoegaze band has been generating buzz with their captivating singles “wish u well” and “benadryl man” from the new album. Today, they release another track titled “you’re like me.” Band leader Victoria Winter shared her thoughts on the song:

“you’re like me” explores the idea that the individuals who hurt you the most may reflect aspects of yourself. It narrates the story of two people concealing their emotions and lacking accountability towards each other, resulting in a cycle of unending pain. For the sound, I aimed for a 90’s guitar vibe while incorporating a drum machine, inspired by the growing trend of y2k drum machine sounds in today’s indie music.

The moving song features a music video created by the talented indie duo Sex Week, which you can watch below. You can also find ticket details for the concert here.

words from a wishing well releases on October 18 under Angel Tapes/Fire Talk.
