Sondre Lerche, the Norwegian indie-pop artist, is preparing for the 20th anniversary reissue of his album Two Way Monologue. The reissue will include previously unreleased bonus tracks, with two new songs, “You Are Impossible” and “September Something,” making their debut on this release. Lerche shared some insights about “You Are Impossible” and its creation process:
Reflecting on the song, Lerche mentioned that he wrote and recorded it in his new apartment in January 2003. Surprisingly, he never presented this piece to his band or producers, and it remained forgotten. Rediscovering it on an old CD-R, Lerche found it surreal to hear one of his own creations without recollection. Despite the unfamiliarity, he enjoyed the track and decided to keep the original lyrics intact while delivering his best performance in 2024. He acknowledged the evolution in his voice since 2003 and appreciated revisiting this phase of his music career.
