UK grime artist Skepta had plans to drop his album Knife And Fork earlier this year, but its release has been delayed without any new date announced. So far, he has put out singles like “Gas Me Up (Diligent)” and “Tony Montana,” and now he has collaborated with the rising Alabama star Flo Milli on his latest track.
The song titled “Why Lie?” features a conversational tone reflecting on their relationship, moving away from Skepta’s traditional grime sound. This time, he incorporates melodic Auto-Tune elements and playful vocal styles reminiscent of Playboi Carti. The lyrics express their attraction to one another, which feels realistic given their appeal. Among the four producers on the track is Lex Luger, known for crafting hits like “BMF (Blowin’ Money Fast)” and “Hard In Da Paint.” You can watch the music video below.
