“Short Escape: A Serene Journey with ‘Long Drive’ on TunesDeck”

little bit – “long drive”

This Friday marks the release of Talk A Blue Streak, the debut EP from Hannah Liuzzo, also known as little bit. Following last month’s single “Out To Dry,” she is sharing another preview with the track “long drive.”

With its light pop-rock vibe, “long drive” reflects the struggles of transitioning through significant life changes. Liuzzo expresses this inner turmoil in her lyrics: “I’m looping dreams of greener pastures like they even exist,” she says in the opening verse. In a press statement, she elaborates:

The inspiration for “long drive” came to me while I was falling for the West Coast. I found myself emotionally caught between two places, having lived a semi-nomadic life for a year. The thought of settling in one location felt daunting, yet I couldn’t ignore my attraction to the natural beauty of Oregon and California. Leaving Boston, where my family, friends, and a well-established music community resided, felt like abandoning my roots. However, the prospect of starting anew in another city was both thrilling and intimidating, and I realized that if I didn’t take the step to write a new chapter in my life, I would deeply regret it.

This song also became a metaphor for my hesitance to form deep connections with others. The verses and pre-choruses display a sense of doubt, while the choruses embody a willingness to embrace the unknown and welcome new experiences.

You can listen to “long drive” below.

The EP Talk A Blue Streak releases on September 20 through Hit The North.
