Two years prior, the Queens-based post-punk ensemble S.C.A.B. debuted their self-titled album. They are set to launch a new five-track EP titled Rose Colored Glasses next month. Today, they unveiled their latest single “IDK New Reality,” which begins with an intense, biting tone before transforming into a serene acoustic experience punctuated by smooth jazz saxophone.
Regarding “IDK New Reality,” Sean Camargo, the frontman of S.C.A.B., highlights themes such as “losing touch with reality,” “holding on to identity,” and imagery like “a large crucifix in Bolivia guarded by the police.” He covers various topics including sexuality, memories, joy, and the importance of embracing the present moment. You can listen to the song below.
The EP Rose Colored Glasses will be available on October 25.
