Last year, Noah Weinman released his debut album, Like Dying Stars, We’re Reaching Out, under the name Runnner. Following this launch, he quickly produced an ambient album titled Starsdust and an improvisational piece called Dust 2, which diverged from his signature sound. Recently, he has unveiled a new single, “Untitled October Song.”
This latest track distinctly reflects Runnner’s style, a result of the artist’s explorations in previous works. In a press release, he shared:
The inspiration for this song came during a walk in October a few years ago. While working on Starsdust, I was immersed in ambient soundscapes and felt a strong desire to create something straightforward and lyrical. This track is the simplest I’ve created: recorded live without any edits or overdubs. It’s quite different from my previous projects.
The lyrics appear to reflect on the feelings following a breakup: “I can hear you/ But I don’t really wanna talk.” Take a moment and listen while you walk by clicking below.
