Introducing Robber Robber’s Latest Tune – “How We Ball”
Robber Robber, the Vermont post-punk band, will be dropping their debut album Wild Guess this Friday. Earlier, they gave us a taste with tracks like “Backup Plan” and “Dial Tone.” Today, the band announced a tour and released a final single before the album’s release.
The new song, “How We Ball,” by Robber Robber is an energetic rock track with garage-rock vibes, complemented by bandleader Nina Cates’ laid-back vocals. Cates explains that the song delves into the art of presentation, highlighting the importance of communication and self-perception. The lyrics touch upon the nuances of conveying oneself accurately in different situations.
The accompanying video for “How We Ball,” directed by Wes Sterrs, features the band playing basketball with friends, captured in a nostalgic VHS style with a fisheye lens, adding a cool visual dimension to the music. Scott Lapatine from Stereogum captured a live performance of Robber Robber playing “How We Ball” last week, providing an additional glimpse of the band’s dynamic stage presence.
