Mo Dotti, the noise-pop band based in Los Angeles, is preparing to release their upcoming album titled Opaque at the end of the month. They have an interesting approach to their vinyl LPs by using varying colors to recycle as much wax as possible. Earlier, they released “lucky boy” and now their new single “whirling sad” has been unveiled.
The band describes “whirling sad” as influenced by “vintage Lush, the sweeter side of My Bloody Valentine, and SST [Records]-era Dinosaur Jr.” These influences are evident in the song’s raw production, infectious melody, and the presence of loud guitars. Check out the music video by Shelly Schimek below.
The album Opaque is set for a self-release on 9/20.
