Review of The Softies’ “Go Back In Time”

The Softies – “Go Back In Time”

After a hiatus of 24 years, the Softies are making a comeback with their new album, The Bed I Made. The album is set to release this Friday and has already teased fans with singles like “I Said What I Said” and “Tiny Flame.” The latest release from the Softies is “Go Back In Time,” which encapsulates themes of longing and nostalgia.

Reflecting on the song, the Softies’ Rose Melberg and Jen Sbragia share, “‘Go Back in Time’ initially explores missing a distant loved one but evolves into a reflection on missing past versions of ourselves and yearning for a bygone era.” The lyrics paint a picture of reminiscence, “Weeks and then months/ Became one awful year/ Watched the light disappear/ From everything,” accompanied by a soothing guitar melody. You can listen to the track below.

The Softies’ album The Bed I Made is scheduled to be released on 8/23 under Father/Daughter label.
