Review of Prim’s Track “Don’t Count On Me” on TunesDeck

Prim – “Don’t Count On Me”

Prim is a band formed by Kevin Flores, Mark Ramos, Evelyn Frances, and Shane Juretic. Hailing from the Houston punk and hardcore scenes and currently based in Seattle, they bring a lively take on ’90s alternative rock. Since their inception in 2020, Prim has released a couple of EPs and singles, gearing up to unveil their debut album, Move Too Slow, later this summer.

With influences from their hardcore background evident in their melodic alt-rock sound, Prim collaborated with Supercrush frontman Mark Palm for Move Too Slow. Their single “Glad We’re Here” was featured on Palm’s compilation From Far It All Seems Small. Phil Jones from Supercrush produced the LP, and Brennen Wilkinson from Squint contributed guest vocals on one track. Today, Prim shared their upbeat single “Don’t Count On Me.”

The tracklist for Move Too Slow includes songs like “I’ll Drive,” “Make Your Bed,” “Golden Tooth,” “Miss Out,” “Cruisin’” featuring Brennan Wilkinson, “Don’t Count On Me,” “Gonna Be,” “It’s Just You,” “Hot Enough,” “But It’s Hard,” and “Livelihood.” The album is set to be released on 9/6 through Sunday Drive.
