Primal Scream has revealed details about their upcoming album, the first one in nearly eight years. Titled Come Ahead, this record follows their 2016 release, Chaosmosis, and is set to be released in November. The band has shared the lead single from the album, “Love Insurrection,” a vibrant dance track filled with strings that diverges from their usual style, showcasing a more upbeat and groovy sound. Despite the title, the track is far from advocating hostility towards hippies.
Bobby Gillespie provided insights into the overarching theme of the album Come Ahead:
Gillespie expressed his enthusiasm for this album, likening it to the experience of making a debut record. The album explores themes of conflict, whether internal or external. The title itself, a Glaswegian term, reflects a spirit of resilience and defiance inherent to the people of Glasgow. The album embodies this fierce attitude and confidence, encapsulated in the term “gallus”, a nod to the region’s bold demeanor. The title Come Ahead also carries a sense of audacity.
