Pom Pom Squad recently released their track “Downhill” and is now introducing their upcoming album Mirror Starts Moving Without Me. The first single from the album, “Spinning,” is now available.
Songwriter Mia Berrin shared that “Spinning” reflects her journey of coming to terms with painful memories and how they have influenced her future. She expressed, “In accepting them, I’ve been able to find more freedom and forgiveness within myself.”
The music video for “Spinning” was directed by Berrin and Benjamin Lieber. Berrin explained, “A lot of the lyrics on the album have to do with watching and analyzing yourself, so I knew I wanted to create a surveillance room setup for something. It turned out to be a really fun home-base for the ‘Spinning’ video.”
Mirror Starts Moving Without Me follows their previous album Death Of A Cheerleader from 2021, where they gained recognition as a Band To Watch. Berrin shared her inspiration for the new album:
Reflecting on my younger self, I aimed to reconnect with my creative origins. Overcoming writer’s block, I curated a playlist of my favorite songs spanning my life, a healing experience. This process was fundamental as we delved into the making of Mirror, drawing from our collective playlists.
